Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to chair an important meeting of chief ministers and deputy chief ministers from National Democratic Alliance (NDA)-governed states and Union Territories on June 11, as the ruling coalition marks twelve years at the Centre.

The gathering is expected to serve as a significant platform for reviewing governance performance, assessing development initiatives, and strengthening coordination between the Union government and NDA-led state administrations.

According to officials familiar with the preparations, the meeting will focus on evaluating the implementation of major government schemes and policy initiatives launched over the past several years. Leaders are expected to discuss progress made under various infrastructure and welfare programmes while identifying areas that require greater attention and improved execution.

A major component of the discussions is likely to revolve around the government’s long-term vision of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047 under the Viksit Bharat mission. The meeting is expected to examine how state governments can align their developmental priorities with national objectives and accelerate progress in critical sectors such as infrastructure, employment generation, education, healthcare, and economic growth.

Senior leaders are also expected to deliberate on emerging economic and geopolitical challenges. Particular attention may be given to the continuing instability in West Asia and its potential impact on global supply chains, energy markets, and inflationary pressures. Rising fuel and cooking gas prices have become areas of concern, making discussions on economic resilience and coordinated policy responses especially relevant. 

The conclave will provide an opportunity for chief ministers and deputy chief ministers to share governance models and successful administrative practices implemented in their respective states. Such exchanges are expected to help replicate effective initiatives across different regions while strengthening cooperation between the Centre and states. Past NDA leadership meetings have similarly emphasized governance innovation, citizen welfare, and administrative efficiency.

The June 11 gathering will also precede another significant event, with the Prime Minister scheduled to chair the Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog later the same day. The council meeting is expected to bring together state leaders and policymakers to discuss long-term development priorities, human resource development, skill enhancement, education reforms, and employment opportunities aimed at supporting India’s growth ambitions.

Political observers are closely watching the developments surrounding the meetings, particularly amid growing speculation about possible changes within the Union government and the ruling party’s organizational structure. Reports suggest that several Union ministers have been asked to remain in New Delhi following the meetings, fueling discussions about a potential cabinet reshuffle or broader organizational adjustments. However, no official announcement has been made regarding any such changes.

Several prominent national leaders are expected to attend the conclave, including Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, J. P. Nadda, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Nirmala Sitharaman. Chief ministers and deputy chief ministers from all NDA-governed states and Union Territories are also expected to participate, making it one of the most significant political and administrative gatherings of the year.

With governance, development, economic preparedness, and Centre-state coordination high on the agenda, the meeting is expected to play an important role in shaping the NDA government’s priorities as it enters the next phase of its administration.
