A deeply disturbing case from Rajasthan’s Khairthal-Bhiwadi district has sparked outrage after an eight-month-old baby girl was allegedly forced to consume acid by her own mother, leaving the infant critically injured and fighting for her life in hospital.

According to police officials, the incident took place in the Captain Chowk area of Bhiwadi while the child’s father was away at work. Authorities said the infant suddenly fell seriously ill after allegedly being given a corrosive substance inside the family home. The baby reportedly began bleeding from her mouth and nose soon afterward, prompting panic among family members and neighbors.

The child was initially rushed to a local medical facility in Bhiwadi, where doctors provided emergency treatment. Due to the severity of her condition, she was later referred to a specialized children’s hospital in Alwar for advanced care. Medical officials stated that the infant remains in critical condition and has been placed on ventilator support as doctors continue intensive treatment.

Doctors treating the child said acid ingestion can severely damage internal organs, including the mouth, throat, food pipe, and digestive system. Medical teams are closely monitoring the infant’s condition as they attempt to stabilize her. 

The baby’s father, identified as Mohit, told investigators that he was at work when the incident allegedly occurred. He said he returned home after being informed that his daughter’s health had rapidly deteriorated. The father reportedly broke down while speaking to police and medical staff, saying the child was his only daughter.

Preliminary police investigations suggest that domestic tensions may have preceded the incident. Officials said initial findings indicate that an argument had taken place after the husband allegedly objected to his wife visiting her parental home. Investigators believe the alleged act may have occurred in a moment of anger, though the exact motive is still under examination.

Police teams have launched a detailed investigation and are questioning family members as well as nearby residents. Authorities are also examining medical evidence and collecting statements to determine the sequence of events leading up to the alleged attack.

The shocking incident has triggered widespread anger in the locality, with residents expressing disbelief over the allegations. Child rights concerns have also resurfaced following the case, with many calling for strict legal action and stronger safeguards for children facing domestic abuse.

Officials said further legal action will depend on medical reports and the findings of the ongoing investigation. The condition of the infant continues to remain extremely critical.
