A major breakthrough has emerged in the investigation into the killing of a close aide of senior West Bengal political leader Suvendu Adhikari, with police arresting three individuals from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The arrests mark a significant escalation in a case that authorities now believe involves a wider interstate network and possibly a professional contract killing module.

According to investigators, the three accused were detained following coordinated raids carried out in multiple districts after technical surveillance and digital intelligence inputs linked them to the crime scene. The murder, which took place in North 24 Parganas district, had initially triggered shock across political circles due to its precision and suspected planning.

Preliminary findings suggest that the suspects were not local to West Bengal and were allegedly brought in specifically to execute the attack. Police sources indicate that at least one of the arrested individuals is suspected to be a trained shooter, pointing toward the possibility of hired gunmen being used in the operation.
