Four people, including a couple and their daughter, were killed after a car collided with a dumper in Rajasthan’s Didwana-Kuchaman district early Wednesday morning, police said.

The accident took place in the Nawa area at around 5 am when the family was travelling from Jaipur towards Nawa. The crash was reportedly severe, leaving the front section of the car badly damaged and trapping all four occupants inside the vehicle.

According to preliminary information, the deceased have been identified as 46-year-old Laxman Singh, his 45-year-old wife Tulsi, their daughter Sheetal, who was around 20 years old, and the car driver, Ramkishan, aged 35.

Severe collision leaves four trapped

The impact of the crash was significant enough to completely mangle the front portion of the car. The occupants were trapped inside the wreckage, making the rescue operation difficult for police and others who reached the site.

The bodies were eventually removed from the damaged vehicle approximately half an hour after the collision. They were subsequently taken to the Nawa sub-district hospital, where they were kept in the mortuary for further procedures.

The incident has left the family and local community shocked, with details of the circumstances leading to the collision still being investigated.

Dumper driver fled after crash

Nawa police station house officer Suresh Chaudhary said the dumper involved in the collision had been seized and taken to the police station. However, its driver reportedly fled from the spot following the accident.

Police have launched a search to trace the driver. Investigators are also examining the circumstances surrounding the crash to establish how the collision occurred and whether factors such as speed, road conditions or other circumstances played a role.

Officials are expected to gather further information as part of the investigation and establish the sequence of events leading up to the fatal crash.

Family was travelling towards Nawa

Preliminary information indicates that the family had been travelling from Jaipur towards Nawa when the accident occurred. Tulsi, one of the victims, was reportedly working as an auxiliary nurse midwife at a sub-health centre in Kasera.

The deaths of the three family members, along with the car driver, have added to concerns surrounding serious road accidents involving cars and heavy commercial vehicles on Rajasthan’s roads.

Police continue to investigate the accident and efforts are underway to locate the dumper driver. Further details about the circumstances of the crash are expected as the investigation progresses.
