A 35-year-old man allegedly killed his two young daughters inside a hotel room near Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport before attempting to take his own life, police said on Monday. The two girls, aged five and 10, were found dead inside the room, while their father was discovered unconscious with serious injuries to his throat.

The incident took place at a five-star hotel located near the airport and has triggered an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Police are examining physical evidence, CCTV recordings and digital material collected from the hotel as they work to reconstruct the sequence of events.

The man, who works as a manager at a private company, was found critically injured in the same fourth-floor hotel room where the bodies of his daughters were discovered. He was subsequently taken to a private hospital for treatment, where his condition remained critical.

Police investigate circumstances of deaths

According to investigators, the two girls were found dead in the hotel room after police were alerted to the incident. Their father was found nearby in an unconscious condition with severe throat injuries.

Deputy Commissioner of Police GK Mithun Kumar said investigators were examining CCTV footage and digital evidence gathered during the initial inquiry. Police officials said the man’s statement would be recorded after doctors declare him medically fit to speak to investigators.

Forensic personnel have also examined the hotel premises. Investigators are expected to collect and analyse various samples and other material from the room to determine what happened before, during and after the deaths.

Officials said the evidence collected from the scene will be important in establishing the chronology of events and determining the circumstances in which the children died.

Note found inside hotel room

A handwritten or purported note found inside the room has become an important part of the investigation. Police said the note appeared to refer to a dispute involving an alleged extramarital relationship.

However, investigators have stressed that the contents of the note cannot yet be treated as confirmation of the motive behind the deaths. Police are verifying the claims mentioned in the note and examining whether the alleged marital dispute had any direct connection with the incident.

Authorities have therefore refrained from drawing a definitive conclusion about the motive at this stage.
