The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced the agenda for its upcoming nationwide ‘Kya Bolti Public’ campaign, focusing on key issues such as education reform, unemployment, institutional accountability and stronger engagement with civil society organisations. The initiative is planned as a grassroots listening programme aimed at understanding the concerns and expectations of citizens, particularly young people, across the country.
The announcement came after the party’s two-day National Working Committee meeting held in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. As part of the campaign, CJP will begin a nationwide listening tour in September, during which party representatives will interact directly with people to gather their views on social, economic and governance-related challenges.
The party said the objective of the campaign is not to make immediate electoral promises but to create a platform where citizens, especially the youth, can openly share their experiences, challenges and suggestions. These discussions will form the foundation for a proposed Youth Reform Charter, which will highlight public priorities and possible solutions based on feedback received from communities.
CJP co-convenor Saurav Das, in a post on social media platform X, said the campaign would focus on listening to people rather than following the traditional approach of announcing promises during political outreach programmes.
“Education reform and unemployment remain at the very top of our priorities,” Das said, adding that the party would continue to raise concerns about institutional accountability. He stressed that democratic systems require institutions to remain responsible for their decisions and actions.
According to the party, improving access to quality education and addressing unemployment among young Indians will remain central themes during the campaign. CJP said it plans to engage with students, professionals, job seekers and members of local communities to understand the challenges they face.
The party also highlighted the importance of accountability within public institutions, arguing that transparent and responsible functioning of institutions is essential for strengthening democracy. It said the campaign would examine issues related to governance, public participation and institutional performance.
Along with public consultations, CJP plans to expand its connections with civil society groups and organisations working on social issues. The party said such partnerships would help it better understand ground-level challenges and develop practical recommendations.
The ‘Kya Bolti Public’ campaign marks an effort by CJP to build a broader grassroots presence while positioning itself as a pressure group focused on public concerns. The party has indicated that its immediate goal is to create dialogue with citizens and amplify issues affecting communities rather than focus solely on electoral politics.
Through the nationwide tour, CJP aims to collect opinions from different regions and communities before preparing its Youth Reform Charter. The initiative is expected to focus on creating a roadmap based on public participation and addressing concerns related to education, employment opportunities and governance reforms.
