India has sharply criticized Pakistan at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), accusing its neighboring country of continuing to sponsor and support cross-border terrorism despite repeated international warnings and diplomatic pressure. The remarks were delivered during a high-level UNSC discussion focused on global security challenges, terrorism, and regional stability.

The Indian delegation asserted that terrorism remains one of the gravest threats to international peace and security and argued that nations supporting extremist activities must be held accountable under international law. India emphasized that cross-border terror infrastructure and extremist safe havens continue to operate openly in Pakistan, posing risks not only to South Asia but also to global stability.

India Calls for Zero Tolerance Against Terrorism

During the address, Indian representatives reiterated the country’s longstanding position that there can be no justification for terrorism in any form. India stressed that selective approaches toward terrorism weaken international counter-terror efforts and allow extremist organizations to regroup and expand.

The delegation highlighted the importance of adopting a “zero tolerance” policy against terrorism and urged the international community to avoid differentiating between “good” and “bad” terrorists. According to India, such distinctions have historically enabled terror groups to survive through state sponsorship, financial networks, and ideological backing.

India also underlined the need for stronger global cooperation in tracking terror financing, dismantling extremist infrastructure, and improving intelligence-sharing mechanisms among nations.

However, diplomatic exchanges between the two countries at international forums have frequently included sharp accusations and counter-accusations related to terrorism, regional security, and human rights concerns.

Relations between India and Pakistan have remained tense for decades, with terrorism often emerging as a central issue in bilateral and multilateral engagements. Several past incidents, including cross-border attacks and military escalations, have contributed to deep mistrust between the neighboring nations.
