A violent altercation triggered by a minor parking-related incident in Punjab’s Ludhiana district escalated into a shooting, leaving a young driver injured and prompting swift police action. Authorities confirmed that two women have been arrested in connection with the case, while efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the remaining accused involved in the attack.
According to police officials, the incident took place in the Hathur area of Ludhiana after a tractor allegedly collided with a parked scooter, sparking a heated confrontation between the parties involved. What initially appeared to be a routine dispute soon turned violent as tempers flared and the situation spiraled out of control.
Investigators said the argument intensified rapidly, leading to an armed assault during which a 23-year-old man, identified as Jaswinder Singh, sustained a gunshot injury. Reports indicate that the victim was shot in the thigh during the altercation. Local residents and bystanders rushed to assist the injured man before he was taken for medical treatment. His condition is reported to be stable. 
Police from Hathur police station reached the scene shortly after receiving information about the firing. Officers began collecting evidence, recording witness statements, and identifying all individuals allegedly connected to the violence. Preliminary findings suggest that the clash involved multiple people and escalated following verbal arguments over the damaged scooter.
Sub-inspector Gursewak Singh, station house officer of Hathur police station, confirmed that a case of attempt to murder has been registered. Police have already detained two women allegedly linked to the incident, while raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding suspects. Authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of all accused persons as the investigation remains ongoing.
The incident has once again highlighted concerns regarding the increasing tendency of local disputes escalating into violent confrontations. Residents in the region expressed shock over the use of firearms in what began as a minor roadside disagreement. Many locals have urged authorities to ensure strict action against those responsible in order to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Police officials stated that they are examining all possible angles, including the sequence of events leading to the shooting and whether the accused had prior disputes with the victim. CCTV footage from nearby locations and eyewitness testimonies are also being reviewed as part of the investigation.
