In a shocking case from Florida, police have found the body of one missing student studying at the University of South Florida, while another student remains missing.
The body of Zamil Limon, a Bangladeshi PHD student, was discovered on Friday morning on the Howard Frankland Bridge. However, his partner Nahida Bristy is still missing, and police are continuing the search.
Police have taken Limon’s roommate, Hisham Saleh Abugharbeih (26), into custody. He is facing several charges like domestic violence, battery, false imprisonment, and hiding evidence. He is also accused of not informing authorities about the death and moving the body illegally.
According to police, officers reached his family home after getting a complaint about domestic violence. His family members were safely taken out, but he locked himself inside the house. Later, he came out peacefully after a Special Weapons and Tactics(SWAT) team arrived.
Limon and Bristy were in a relationship and were even thinking about marriage, a relative said Both went missing on April 16. Limon was last seen at his apartment, while Bristy was last spotted at a campus science building about an hour later.
Police said a family friend informed them after they could not contact the couple. During questioning, the accused first stopped cooperating but later spoke again after his arrest.
Officials confirmed that there are no other suspects right now. An autopsy is being conducted to find out the exact reason for Limon’s death.
Police are still requesting the public to share any information that can help find Nahida Bristy.
