Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Friday launched a sharp political attack on Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, asserting that he has “no political future” in the state till 2047.
Speaking at a BJP programme in Pilibhit, Maurya also targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying there is “no vacancy” for him at the national level.
Maurya accused opposition parties of being frustrated by the rise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who, he said, rose from a poor background to lead the nation. He alleged that the opposition’s politics is based on misleading the public and questioning democratic institutions like the Election Commission to cover up their failures.
He further stated that booth capturing and intimidation during elections have been eliminated under BJP rule, claiming that genuine candidates now win because criminals have been “pushed out of the state.” Citing recent polls in Haryana and Maharashtra, Maurya predicted that the opposition will face similar rejection in Bihar.
Maurya also highlighted the ongoing Seva Pakhwada campaign, under which medical camps are being organized to improve women’s health across the state.
In Varanasi, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak echoed Maurya’s criticism of the opposition, saying Rahul Gandhi’s “hunger for power” stops him from taking a break. He said opposition parties are frustrated as organized crime networks have been dismantled in Uttar Pradesh.
Separately, Keshav Prasad Maurya attended a seminar on “Role of Media in Indian Democracy: Opportunities and Challenges” at Lucknow University, organized as part of Rajasthan Patrika’s centenary celebrations.
Addressing the event, he called the government and media “co-travelers in democracy” and praised the media’s contribution in building a strong and aware society. He urged media professionals to use their influence to strengthen democracy and make India self-reliant.
