Mumbai: The official teaser for ‘120 Bahadur’, featuring Farhan Akhtar, was released on Tuesday, providing a compelling insight into the 1962 Indo-China conflict.
Marking Farhan’s return to cinema after almost five years, the film showcases him in the role of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, a Param Vir Chakra recipient and a renowned figure in Indian military history.
Actor Raashii Khanna will make a special appearance alongside Farhan. Set against the backdrop of the historic Battle of Rezang La, the teaser begins with escalating tensions between India and China, culminating in Farhan’s character proclaiming, “Hum piche nahi hatenge (We will not step back).”
Reflecting the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers, another line from the teaser states: “Yeh wardi sirf himmat nahi, balidan bhi mangti hai” (The uniform not only demands courage but also sacrifice).
The teaser honors the 120 soldiers of the Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment, who stood their ground against approximately 3,000 Chinese troops.
“A moment in history where courage refused to fail,” the creators expressed alongside the teaser, emphasizing the steadfast bravery and dedication of the forces who valiantly defended the nation.
‘120 Bahadur’ is inspired by the remarkable true story of a war forged in snow and sealed with sacrifice,” Farhan Akhtar shared on Instagram. The teaser was released just a day after the makers revealed a new poster for the film, announcing the teaser’s release date.
The film was initially announced in September 2024, with Farhan presenting his look as Maj. Shaitan Singh. This project is described as a tribute to the unyielding spirit of the Indian armed forces.
Filmed in Ladakh, Rajasthan, and Mumbai, the creators have expertly recreated the war front. From the icy landscapes to the silence of the battlefield, each frame is laden with significance.
