Delhi Man Arrested for Allegedly Murdering Brother-in-Law, Dumping Body Near Burari Metro Station

A shocking murder case in North Delhi has come to light after police arrested a man accused of killing his brother-in-law and abandoning the body near Burari Metro Station. Investigators said the crime appears to have stemmed from a personal dispute that escalated into a violent confrontation.

According to police officials, the accused was taken into custody following an intensive investigation that involved technical surveillance, questioning of witnesses, and examination of CCTV footage from areas surrounding the crime scene. The arrest has brought temporary closure to a case that initially puzzled investigators after the unidentified body was discovered near the metro station.

Body Found Near Metro Station Triggered Investigation

The case began when local authorities received information about a body lying near Burari Metro Station in North Delhi. Police teams rushed to the spot and secured the area before launching a preliminary inquiry. The victim reportedly had visible injury marks, raising immediate suspicion of foul play.

Officials later identified the deceased as a man who had been missing for several hours before his body was recovered. After informing the family members, police initiated a detailed probe to trace the sequence of events leading up to the murder.

Investigators reportedly found inconsistencies in statements given by people close to the victim, which eventually led them toward the accused — the victim’s own brother-in-law. Police identified the victim as 37-year-old Raja Kumar, who lived in north Delhi’s Hardev Nagar, Jharoda Majra. Personal Dispute Allegedly Led to Murder

During interrogation, police discovered that tensions had allegedly been building between the two men for some time. Sources associated with the investigation indicated that the relationship between the victim and the accused had deteriorated due to ongoing personal disagreements and family-related conflicts.

Authorities believe an argument between the two escalated violently, resulting in the victim being attacked. Investigators suspect the accused attempted to conceal the crime by transporting and dumping the body near the metro station in an effort to mislead police and avoid suspicion.

Police officials stated that evidence collected during the investigation, including witness testimonies and digital tracking data, played a crucial role in reconstructing the events surrounding the murder.  Man killed by live-in partner's brother-in law in Pune; 4 arrested | Pune News - The Indian Express

CCTV Footage and Technical Evidence Helped Crack Case

The breakthrough reportedly came after investigators reviewed surveillance footage from nearby roads and public areas. The movements of the accused were allegedly traced through multiple CCTV cameras installed around North Delhi.

Police teams also relied on mobile phone location records and forensic evidence to establish a connection between the accused and the victim during the hours leading up to the crime. The combined evidence strengthened the case against the suspect and led to his arrest.

Authorities said the accused later confessed to involvement in the crime during questioning, although further verification and forensic analysis are still underway as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police Continue Detailed Probe

Delhi Police have registered a murder case and are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the killing. Officials are also examining whether anyone else may have assisted the accused in disposing of the body or helping cover up the crime.

The incident has once again raised concerns over violent crimes emerging from domestic and family disputes in urban areas. Residents near Burari expressed shock after learning about the nature of the crime and the relationship between the accused and the victim.

Police officials assured that all aspects of the case are being thoroughly investigated and that a charge sheet will be filed after completion of forensic and legal procedures.

The accused remains in police custody while further interrogation and evidence collection continue.
