Amid widespread speculation in the entertainment industry, author Amish Tripathi has categorically dismissed reports suggesting that Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has acquired the rights to adapt The Immortals of Meluha or is set to portray Lord Shiva in a film adaptation of the acclaimed novel.
Recent media chatter and social media discussions had fueled excitement among fans, claiming that a large-scale cinematic adaptation of the Shiva Trilogy was underway. These reports further alleged that Ranveer Singh was not only involved in securing adaptation rights but was also being considered for the central role of Lord Shiva in the proposed film franchise.
However, Amish Tripathi has now clarified that these claims are entirely unfounded. He confirmed that no rights related to The Immortals of Meluha or the broader Shiva Trilogy have been sold or officially transferred to any actor, producer, or production house. The author emphasized that any such reports are speculative and not based on factual agreements.
Tripathi also addressed the rumours linking Ranveer Singh to the mythological project, stating that while the actor is widely admired for his versatility and screen presence, there has been no formal discussion or contractual arrangement regarding his involvement in any adaptation of the book series.
The Shiva Trilogy, which includes The Immortals of Meluha, The Secret of the Nagas, and The Oath of the Vayuputras, has long been considered a strong candidate for cinematic adaptation due to its rich narrative rooted in Indian mythology. This has repeatedly led to public speculation about potential film or series adaptations over the years.
The recent rumours suggested that a major production was in development, with early-stage scripting and planning already underway. These claims quickly gained traction online, sparking discussions about casting choices and the scale of the envisioned project.
Despite the buzz, Tripathi’s statement has effectively clarified that no such project is currently confirmed. There is no official announcement regarding casting, production timelines, or rights acquisition for any adaptation of the Shiva Trilogy.
With this clarification, the author has put to rest the ongoing speculation, reaffirming that any news about Ranveer Singh playing Lord Shiva or purchasing adaptation rights is not based on verified information.
