In a major development in a high-profile murder case from West Bengal, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has officially taken over the investigation into the killing of an aide associated with senior political leader Suvendu Adhikari. The agency has also constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to conduct a more structured and intensive probe into the incident, which has drawn significant political and administrative attention in the state.

The decision marks a critical turning point in the case, which was earlier being investigated by the state police.
