A joyous evening of cricket ended in heartbreak after two young friends lost their lives in a devastating road accident while returning home from an Indian Premier League (IPL) match in Delhi. The fatal collision, reportedly caused by a speeding car, has once again raised serious concerns over reckless driving and road safety in the national capital.

According to police officials, the victims were travelling on a motorcycle late at night after attending an IPL fixture when a fast-moving vehicle allegedly hit them from behind in northeast Delhi’s Karawal Nagar area. The impact of the collision was so severe that both riders suffered critical injuries and died on the spot before medical help could save them.

Authorities said the victims were close friends and had gone to watch the high-profile cricket match together. After the game concluded, they began their journey home, unaware that it would become their final ride. Eyewitnesses and local residents reportedly rushed to assist after hearing the loud crash, but the severity of the injuries left little chance of survival.

Police teams reached the accident site soon after receiving information and initiated an investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings suggest overspeeding and negligent driving may have been major factors behind the crash.
