The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the alleged mastermind accused of orchestrating the NEET-UG 2026 Chemistry paper leak, marking a major breakthrough in one of the country’s most closely watched education fraud investigations. Officials said the accused was allegedly involved in planning and coordinating the illegal circulation of confidential examination material ahead of the highly competitive medical entrance examination.

The arrest comes amid mounting concerns over the integrity of national-level examinations and renewed scrutiny of organized cheating networks operating across multiple States. According to investigators, the accused played a central role in facilitating access to the Chemistry question paper before the examination was conducted.

Alleged Network Under Investigation

Sources associated with the investigation indicated that the accused is suspected to have links with a larger inter-State racket involved in manipulating examination systems for financial gain. The agency is now examining digital records, financial transactions, communication devices, and possible connections with coaching operators and intermediaries who may have assisted in distributing leaked material to candidates.

Investigators believe the leak may have been executed through a coordinated chain involving multiple individuals responsible for obtaining, transporting, and circulating sensitive examination content.
