A devastating explosion at a fireworks manufacturing facility in central China has left at least 21 people dead and more than 60 others injured, marking one of the deadliest industrial accidents in the country in recent months. The blast occurred on the afternoon of May 4, 2026, in Liu yang, a city under the administration of Changsha in Hunan province—an area widely known as a hub for the fireworks industry.

According to official reports, the explosion took place at a plant operated by a local fireworks manufacturing company.
