Iranian media has once again claimed that an F-35 stealth fighter jet was shot down over central Iran by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), even as the United States dismissed the assertion as false.

According to reports by Iran news agency, visuals of aircraft debris were released, which Tehran described as remnants of an American fighter jet. The report suggested that the pilot was unlikely to have survived.

This marks the second such claim made by Iran within 24 hours and the third since tensions escalated on February 28. Earlier, Tehran had reported similar incidents on April 2 and March 23.

However, the US Central Command (CENTCOM), which is leading operations against Iran, has denied all such claims. Responding to previous reports, CENTCOM stated that all US aircraft are fully accounted for and accused the IRGC of repeatedly making unverified assertions.

Iranian reports further alleged that the destroyed jet was linked to a US squadron based in Lakenheath. There has been no fresh response from the US regarding the latest claim.

The conflicting narratives highlight the ongoing information battle between the two sides amid rising regional tensions.
