Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reportedly said on Sunday that it had carried out missile and drone strikes on three United States military bases in the region and warned that it would continue “to pursue and kill” Benjamin Netanyahu, according to Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency.
In a statement, the IRGC reportedly claimed responsibility for attacks on the Al-Harir Air Base in Erbil, Iraq, as well as the Ali Al Salem Air Base and Camp Arifjan in Kuwait.
The IRGC said the sites were struck with “powerful Iranian missiles and drones”, describing the operation as the 52nd wave of what it called Operation True Promise 4.
The statement also issued a direct threat to Netanyahu, saying that if the Israeli prime minister was “still alive, we will continue pursuing him and kill him with full force”.
Earlier in the day, the office of the Israeli prime minister dismissed reports circulating online that Netanyahu had been assassinated during Iran’s response to recent strikes by the United States and Israel.
The office described the claims as “fake news” and said the prime minister was “fine”.
According to Fars, the IRGC said the latest attacks were carried out in retaliation for the killing of workers in Iranian industrial zones during the recent escalation of hostilities.
