The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) has released surveillance footage and photographs of the suspect accused of fatally shooting conservative commentator and activist Charlie Kirk during a campus event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
According to footage, the assailant climbed onto the rooftop of a nearby building around 12 pm (local time) and fired a single shot that struck Kirk while he was addressing a packed audience. The 31-year-old activist was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
The footage shows the suspect leaping from the rooftop moments after the shooting before fleeing the scene. Authorities later recovered a rifle and ammunition abandoned in a wooded area close to the university.

In addition to releasing images of the suspect, the FBI has announced a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of those responsible for the killing.
Kirk’s assassination triggered panic among attendees, with graphic videos circulating online showing him responding to a question about mass shootings seconds before being targeted.
FBI has urged the public to come forward with any information that could help identify the shooter. The investigation remains ongoing.
