Uttar Pradesh on High Alert as Nepal Unrest Escalates; Border Districts Sealed

The Uttar Pradesh government has placed the entire state on high alert amid escalating unrest and protests in neighboring Nepal. Authorities have sealed all border districts and ordered round-the-clock patrolling and surveillance to prevent any law-and-order issues from spilling over into Indian territory.

Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Krishna has instructed all border district units to remain on 24-hour alert, while additional police forces have been deployed to reinforce security.

A special police wing has been tasked with monitoring social media for provocative or misleading posts related to the Nepal crisis, with officials warning that immediate action will be taken against those spreading misinformation.

To assist Indian nationals stranded in Nepal, the state government has set up a dedicated control room at the DGP headquarters. According to Law and Order ADG Amitabh Yash, three helpline numbers and a WhatsApp line will remain operational around the clock, allowing citizens to seek immediate assistance.

Police headquarters have also been directed to ensure real-time monitoring of sensitive developments and coordinate a swift response when needed. These enhanced measures are aimed at containing potential cross-border tensions and safeguarding internal security during the ongoing situation in Nepal.
