Father Killed While Saving Son From Speeding Bike in Malappuram, CCTV Footage Surfaces

Malappuram (Kerala): A heartbreaking road tragedy unfolded in Kerala’s Malappuram district, where a father lost his life while saving his young son from a speeding motorcycle. The incident, captured on CCTV, has gone viral on social media, leaving viewers shocked at the father’s final act of bravery.

According to reports, the man had parked his car near a roadside footpath and was attempting to cross the busy road with his child. The video shows the father holding his son’s hand as they cautiously tried to make their way across. Without warning, a speeding motorbike barreled down the road, colliding with them. In a split-second instinctive move, the father pushed his son forward, saving the child from the direct impact.

The footage captures the violent collision, with the father, his son, and the biker thrown onto the road. Passersby rushed to the spot and attempted to help. The injured father was immediately taken to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. His son, along with the biker, sustained minor to moderate injuries and is recovering. Authorities have yet to disclose the identity of the deceased and are reviewing the CCTV footage to determine whether charges of rash and negligent driving will be filed against the motorcyclist.

Second Major Accident in Malappuram Within Three Weeks

This tragedy follows another serious road accident in Malappuram just three weeks ago, when a tourist bus overturned near Kuttippuram bridge. Several passengers were injured, and a child was left in critical condition after the bus, traveling from Kottakkal to Chamravattom, toppled while giving way to another vehicle.

The back-to-back accidents have reignited concerns about road safety, traffic discipline, and enforcement in Kerala’s Malappuram district. Authorities are under pressure to implement stricter safety measures to prevent such recurring tragedies.
