Rahul Gandhi Disrespected Sonia Gandhi, Says Goa Minister Vishwajit Rane in Viral Video

A political storm erupted on Monday after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Malviya shared a video clip of Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane making a controversial revelation about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

In the podcast interview clip, Vishwajit Rane, who was earlier with the Congress party, alleged that his father, Pramod Rane — a senior Congress leader and seven-time Chief Minister of Goa — had once witnessed Rahul Gandhi shouting at Sonia Gandhi. “Once my father saw how Rahul Gandhi shouted at madam (Sonia Gandhi),” Vishwajit said.

When the podcast host sought clarification if he indeed meant Rahul Gandhi shouted at his mother Sonia, Vishwajit confirmed with a clear “yes.” He went further to criticize Rahul Gandhi, remarking, “If he can’t respect his own mother, what will they do for Mother India?”

Addressing a follow-up by the host that Rahul Gandhi is often seen showing respect to Sonia Gandhi at public gatherings, Rane dismissed it, saying, “Respecting publicly and respecting at home are two different things.”

The revelation has sparked sharp political reactions, with the BJP using the remarks to target the Congress and Rahul Gandhi’s leadership style.
