Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday expressed full support for the Maratha quota agitation led by activist Manoj Jarange. Speaking to Jarange over the phone through Legislative Council Opposition Leader Ambadas Danve, Thackeray assured that his party stands firmly behind the movement.
Following the conversation, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut took to social media to share Thackeray’s message, urging Shiv Sainiks to actively assist the protesters who have gathered in Mumbai in large numbers.
In his appeal, Thackeray highlighted the hardships faced by the demonstrators, who have traveled from across Maharashtra and are braving rain, mud, and lack of basic amenities. Criticizing the government for failing to provide essential facilities, he called upon party workers to step in and provide food, water, and sanitation support.
“This is our Maharashtra Dharma. From every corner of the state, our Marathi brethren have gathered here, fighting for their rightful demands. I urge all Shiv Sainiks to unite and tirelessly help these brothers and sisters. Jai Maharashtra,” Thackeray stated.
