A serious accident occurred in Uttar Pradesh’s Chandauli district on Monday morning (August 25) when a dry mango tree standing by the roadside suddenly collapsed onto a moving tempo. The tempo, which was transporting passengers from Chandauli to Syedraja, was severely damaged in the incident, leaving four people, including the driver, critically injured, according to reports by Purvanchal Post.

Eyewitnesses stated that the tempo was fully loaded with passengers when the mishap took place near the town. Without any warning, a large branch from the old, dry mango tree broke and came crashing down on the vehicle, causing massive damage to its front portion. The impact left several passengers seriously injured.

Local residents immediately rushed to the spot, rescued the victims, and shifted them to a nearby private hospital for emergency medical care. The entire accident was captured on CCTV, and the footage has since gone viral on social media platforms.

Villagers Blame Negligence of Authorities
According to villagers, the dry tree had posed a danger for a long time, and despite repeated complaints, the authorities failed to act. Even after the accident, the remaining part of the tree still stands dangerously, sparking fear among commuters.

Police officials have inspected the scene and initiated legal proceedings. The condition of the injured victims remains critical, and treatment is ongoing.
