Final Draw for FIFA World Cup 2026 to Take Place in December at Washington’s Kennedy Center

The much-anticipated Final Draw for the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the iconic Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The event will decide the group-stage matchups for what will be the largest FIFA World Cup in history, hosted across Canada, Mexico, and the United States in 2026.

The announcement came from U.S. President Donald J. Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino during an event at the White House. The draw marks a key milestone on the road to the expanded 48-team tournament, which concludes with the grand final at the New York New Jersey Stadium on July 19, 2026.

The Kennedy Center, often called America’s national cultural hub and a tribute to President John F. Kennedy, will welcome team officials, ambassadors, media, and fans from all 16 host cities. The iconic FIFA World Cup Trophy will also be showcased at the event. Host nations Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. will be automatically assigned positions A1, B1, and D1 in the draw.

So far, 13 teams have secured qualification, including defending champions Argentina and debutants Jordan and Uzbekistan. By the time of the draw, 42 of the 48 participating nations will be confirmed, with the last two spots decided through a new FIFA play-off tournament scheduled for March 2026.

In an exciting first for FIFA, fans from each **Host City—11 in the U.S., three in Mexico, and two in Canada—**will have the chance to attend the draw through a special lottery offering free admission and VIP experiences. The event will be broadcast live worldwide, giving millions of fans a glimpse of the tournament’s thrilling journey ahead.
