The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has officially announced the preliminary examination date for the Assistant Section Officer (ASO) Recruitment 2025. The exam will take place on September 10, 2025, across 11 districts in Bihar. The test will be conducted in a single session, from 12:00 PM to 2:15 PM. Candidates are advised to verify their exact exam centre details on the admit card once it is released.
The preliminary examination will be an objective-type General Knowledge paper, consisting of multiple-choice questions to assess candidates’ general awareness. Although the format is straightforward, it is time-bound, so aspirants should focus on speed and accuracy during their preparation.

Once released, candidates can download the admit card by following these steps:

- Click on the “ASO Admit Card 2025” link on the homepage
- Enter your login details (registration number and date of birth)
- Download and print the admit card to carry to the exam centre along with a valid ID proof
Salary Details
Selected candidates will be placed in Level-7 pay scale, with a monthly pay band of ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400. In addition to the basic pay, appointees will receive allowances like HRA and TA as per Bihar government norms.
Selection Process
The BPSC ASO recruitment process includes the following stages:
- Preliminary Examination (objective GK paper)
- Main Examination
- Interview
- Document Verification
Candidates must clear each stage to move to the next. While the preliminary exam focuses on general knowledge, the main examination will include descriptive and subject-specific components, so aspirants should plan their preparation accordingly.
