New Delhi: OpenAI has launched a new subscription plan called ChatGPT Go in India, making it the company’s most affordable plan to date. Priced at ₹399 per month, the plan offers several premium features at a budget-friendly rate, aimed at providing enhanced access to AI tools for Indian users.
According to OpenAI, ChatGPT Go includes ten times the message limit and image generation capabilities compared to the free plan. It also enables file uploads, offers extended memory, and provides a larger context window for better performance. Users will also get access to projects, tasks, and custom GPTs.
One of the biggest highlights of this plan is that OpenAI has introduced UPI-based payments for the first time, making it easier for Indian users to upgrade without relying on credit or debit cards. This move aims to simplify the subscription process and increase accessibility across the country.
Nick Turley, Vice President and Head of ChatGPT, revealed that ChatGPT Go is being launched in India first, based on strong user demand for an affordable plan and local payment options.

How to Subscribe to ChatGPT Go?
To sign up for ChatGPT Go:
- Log into your ChatGPT account
- Tap on your profile icon → Upgrade Plan
- Select “Try Go”
OpenAI has confirmed that the rollout is gradual, and users who don’t see the option yet should check back later.
