PM Modi Hails Operation Sindoor: Says India Forced Pakistan to Its Knees in Hours

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during an address in Bengaluru on Sunday, lauded the Indian Armed Forces for the success of Operation Sindoor, declaring that it brought Pakistan to its knees within hours. The operation was India’s swift and strategic military response to the deadly April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives.

PM Modi emphasized that the entire world witnessed a “new face of India”—one that adopts a firm and decisive stance against terrorism. He said, “Operation Sindoor demonstrated the power of Indian forces to destroy terrorist hideouts located several kilometres across the border. It also exposed Pakistan’s vulnerability as it attempted to shield terrorism and failed.”

The Prime Minister highlighted the pivotal role of indigenous technology and the Make in India initiative in defence. “Youth from Bengaluru and Karnataka have played a significant role in strengthening India’s tech-driven defence capabilities,” he added while speaking at the ‘Next-Gen Mobility for a Next-Gen City’ programme.

Launched on May 7, Operation Sindoor targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The offensive resulted in the elimination of over 100 terrorists associated with groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.

In retaliation to India’s strike, Pakistan responded with cross-border shelling, drone attacks, and air defence maneuvers. However, India’s counter-counterstrikes were swift and destructive, damaging Pakistan’s radar systems, communication networks, and key airfields across 11 strategic bases, including the Nur Khan airbase.

This military campaign marked a turning point in India’s counter-terror strategy, showcasing its enhanced precision, strength, and diplomatic resolve on the global stage.
