The Shastri Bridge, which links Narol Junction to Vishala Circle in Ahmedabad, will be closed for the next seven months.

As per a report from the Highway Authority, the bearings and pedestal rods on one side of the bridge have suffered deterioration, necessitating immediate repairs. Traffic Police Commissioner G S Malik has issued a notification indicating that the bridge will be closed from August 9 to February 8, 2026.

Vehicles traveling from Narol will be redirected through Pirana Circle, Behrampura, Ambedkar Bridge, and Anjali Circle. The bridge accommodates thousands of vehicles each day, and the side that remains operational is already experiencing significant strain.

Notably, in December 2023, one part of the bridge was closed for four months, but the complete repairs have still not been completed.
