A video showing a woman sitting on the roof of a moving Thar while recording a reel in Gurugram has gone viral on social media.
This incident, which occurred on National Highway-48, has ignited significant outrage, drawing attention to the increasing trend of traffic violations for the sake of online notoriety.
In the footage, the woman is seen emerging from the sunroof and sitting atop the moving SUV, while a man is driving.
Gurugram Police reported that this act not only breached traffic regulations but also posed a danger to the woman, the driver, and other road users. A case was filed on August 7 under applicable legal provisions at the DLF Sector-29 police station.
In an official statement, Gurugram Police confirmed: “In the video shared on social media, a woman exited the sunroof of a moving vehicle on the road to film a video. Following the registration of a case, the vehicle (Thar) involved in the incident was recovered. The suspects will be apprehended soon, and actions will be taken in accordance with the law.”
Preliminary investigations indicated that the vehicle belonged to a local resident whose son was operating it during the incident. The man was not present at home when police arrived, but officials mentioned that efforts are ongoing to identify and capture those involved.
As the investigation progresses, Gurugram Police has urged the community to avoid engaging in dangerous stunts for social media fame, cautioning that legal repercussions will ensue.
