In a shocking turn of events, Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi’s cousin, Asif Qureshi, was murdered in South Delhi’s Jangpura area following an argument over a scooter parking issue. The incident occurred on the night of August 7 around 10:30 PM, according to the Delhi Police.

Asif Qureshi, 42, son of Ilyas Qureshi and a resident of Bhogal in Jangpura, got into a heated dispute with two individuals over the parking of a scooter near his residence. During the altercation, one of the accused reportedly stabbed Asif in the chest with a sharp metal object (identified as a poker), leading to his death. The two accused — Ujjwal (19) and Gautam (18) — have been apprehended, and a case has been registered under FIR No. 233/25, invoking Sections 103(1)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is currently underway.

In a separate incident that has further intensified concerns about safety in the national capital, a 50-year-old woman was found murdered in her home in Delhi’s Ranhola area on Wednesday. The deceased, Kiran Jha, worked as a caretaker and was living with her daughter-in-law Kamal Jha, granddaughter, and son Durgesh Jha.

A police PCR call reporting the murder was received at around 4:09 AM. Preliminary investigation revealed that the prime suspect is her estranged husband, Parmod Jha (60), who had returned to Delhi on August 1 after nearly a decade in his native village, Chidiabad in Munger district, Bihar. Kiran and Parmod had reportedly been living separately for the past ten years. CCTV footage from a nearby government-installed camera captured Parmod leaving the premises around 12:50 AM on the night of the murder.

The police believe the murder was premeditated and are continuing their search for Parmod, who remains absconding.
