The historical epic ‘Kannappa’, starring Vishnu Manchu in the lead role, was presented at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. This esteemed screening was attended by high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, who were keen to witness the film’s portrayal of the legendary devotee of Lord Shiva. Produced by Mohan Babu, the film is helmed by Mukesh Kumar Singh.
The film received a favorable reception, with dignitaries praising its emotional richness and grand visual presentation. The spiritual themes struck a chord with them, especially the final 40 minutes, which were hailed as a cinematic triumph.
Vishnu Manchu expressed his joy on his official X page. His post stated, “Honoured beyond words! #Kannappa had a special screening at Rashtrapati Bhavan, a proud acknowledgment of its devotion-driven narrative and cultural importance. Har Har Mahadev (sic).”
The screening at Rashtrapati Bhavan marks a significant achievement for Telugu cinema, earning national recognition for its fusion of cultural heritage and cinematic artistry. This event underscores the expanding influence and reach of Telugu films beyond regional confines.
‘Kannappa’, one of the most awaited films in Telugu cinema this year, premiered in theaters on June 27. The film garnered moderate reviews and performed admirably at the box office.
Recently, the movie faced a piracy threat. Vishnu Manchu reported that over 30,000 links were removed. In a statement on X, the actor said, “Dear movie lovers, #Kannappa is facing a piracy attack. More than 30,000 illegal links have already been taken down. This is alarming. Piracy is theft – plain and simple. We don’t teach our children to steal. Watching pirated content is no different. Please don’t support it. Help cinema the right way (sic).” Prior to the release of ‘Kannappa’, Vishnu Manchu visited 12 Jyothirlingas across India.
