Gujarat AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava is arrested on charges of attempted murder after allegedly attacking a taluka panchayat official in Dediapada, Narmada district, police report on Sunday.

The incident occurs on Saturday during a meeting held at the prant office within Mr. Vasava’s constituency of Dediapada.

Mr. Vasava is taken into custody late Saturday night, according to police.

During the meeting, Mr. Vasava becomes agitated after expressing dissatisfaction over his nominee not being appointed as a member of the ‘Aapno Taluko Vibrant Taluko’ (ATVT), a local coordination committee, as stated in the FIR filed at Dediapada police station.

Mr. Vasava reportedly begins to verbally abuse a woman who is the president of Sagbara taluka panchayat.

When Dediapada taluka panchayat president Sanjay Vasava, who is present at the meeting, raises an objection, the MLA allegedly retaliates by throwing a mobile phone at him, resulting in head injuries, according to the complaint filed by Sanjay Vasava.

The legislator also attempts to assault the complainant with a glass but is stopped by police personnel who are present at the scene, as per the FIR.
