‘Although there was a rise in the occurrence of sudden cardiovascular events due to a pro-inflammatory state in the immediate post-covid period, this cannot be sustained as a long-term truth (1 year). It has been three years since the pandemic concluded,’ the report indicated. The expert committee also reviewed various research studies published globally to determine if there was any potential link between Covid and sudden heart attacks. However, the majority of studies or reports from around the world have similarly failed to establish any causal relationship between Covid vaccination and sudden cardiovascular events, as noted in the report.

‘Conversely, Covid vaccination has been demonstrated to offer protection against cardiac events in the long term,’ the report stated.

This conclusion was reached after analyzing 251 patients under the age of 45 who presented with heart issues at the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences between April 1, 2025, and May 31, 2025. ‘A comprehensive risk factor profile analysis was conducted, specifically including the past history of Covid-19 infection—detailing symptoms, hospitalization, severity, and need for ventilatory support.

A similarly thorough history regarding Covid-19 vaccination, including the number of doses, vaccine brand, and any immediate adverse events following vaccination, was collected,’ the report concluded.
