The actor recalled receiving around 200 scripts after the 2012 crime drama became a major turning point in his career. Along with the scripts, filmmakers were reportedly ready to offer him blank cheques, allowing him to decide his remuneration.

Despite the sudden attention and the financial opportunities that came with his growing popularity, Siddiqui said he refused to rush into signing a new project. According to the actor, none of the scripts he received at the time convinced him that they were the right choice for his career.
