A police head constable was killed after terrorists opened fire on a police party in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday, marking another deadly attack on security personnel in the Kashmir Valley. The incident took place in the busy Lal Chowk area of Anantnag, prompting an immediate response from security agencies and the launch of an extensive search operation to track down the attackers.

According to officials, the police team was on routine deployment when heavily armed terrorists suddenly opened fire. Head Constable Ashiq Hussain, who was assigned to security duties connected with the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, sustained serious gunshot injuries during the attack. Fellow personnel immediately shifted him to the Government Medical College Hospital in Anantnag for emergency treatment.
