Union Home Minister Amit Shah has emphasized the urgent need to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced technologies to strengthen India’s fight against cybercrime, calling for a comprehensive modernization of the country’s cyber security ecosystem. Stressing that cyber threats are evolving rapidly in both scale and sophistication, Shah urged law enforcement agencies and cybercrime prevention units to adopt cutting-edge digital tools to improve detection, prevention, and response mechanisms.

Addressing officials and stakeholders involved in cyber security and digital crime prevention, the Home Minister highlighted the growing challenges posed by online fraud, financial scams, identity theft, data breaches, and other cyber-enabled crimes. He noted that as India continues its rapid digital transformation, cybercriminals are increasingly exploiting technological advancements to target individuals, businesses, and institutions.

Cybercrime Emerging as a Major National Challenge
