India delivers sharp rebuttal to Pakistan at UNSC after Jammu and Kashmir reference, accuses Islamabad of hypocrisy on global stage

India mounted a strong diplomatic counterattack against Pakistan at the platform of the United Nations Security Council after references were made to Jammu and Kashmir in the course of deliberations, accusing Islamabad of attempting to misuse international forums while ignoring its own record on issues related to terrorism and regional stability.

According to diplomatic sources, India’s response was firm and unequivocal, reiterating its longstanding position that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of the country and that any external reference to the region in international discussions is both unwarranted and misleading. New Delhi asserted that such interventions are aimed at diverting attention from pressing global security concerns.

During the exchange, India strongly objected to Pakistan’s remarks, characterising them as an attempt to politicise procedural discussions at the global body. Indian representatives highlighted what they described as a pattern of “selective narratives” being pushed by Islamabad in multilateral forums, particularly when broader issues of peace and security are under discussion.  Its long-tainted record of genocidal acts...': India tears into Pakistan's at UNSC after Kashmir remarks

India further argued that it was “hypocritical” for any nation to present itself as a champion of legal principles in international governance while simultaneously facing allegations of supporting cross-border terrorism and harbouring extremist networks. The Indian side stressed that credibility in global diplomacy depends on consistency in both words and actions.

Reiterating its stance, India urged members of the Security Council to remain focused on substantive global challenges such as terrorism, geopolitical conflicts, and humanitarian crises, rather than being drawn into what it termed as politically motivated distractions. It also underscored the need for responsible conduct by all member states in multilateral institutions.

The Indian response is seen as part of its broader diplomatic strategy of countering Pakistan’s repeated attempts to raise the Jammu and Kashmir issue in international forums, particularly in discussions where the subject is not formally on the agenda. Officials maintained that such references do not alter the legal and constitutional status of the region.

The exchange reflects continuing tensions between the two neighbouring countries in multilateral spaces, where both sides frequently present sharply contrasting narratives. While Pakistan continues to raise concerns over Jammu and Kashmir, India consistently rejects such assertions and calls for a focus on terrorism and regional security cooperation.

Diplomatic observers note that India’s latest intervention signals its intent to maintain a firm posture in international forums and challenge what it perceives as misinformation or politicisation of global platforms.
