A training aircraft crashed near Baramati in Maharashtra’s Pune district on Tuesday, triggering an immediate emergency response and an official investigation into the cause of the accident. Authorities confirmed that the aircraft was being operated as part of a routine training exercise and involved trainee pilots at the time of the incident.

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred close to Baramati airport when the two-seater training aircraft went down under unclear circumstances during a flight operation. The aircraft reportedly lost control before crashing near the airfield boundary area, prompting concern among aviation officials and local authorities.

Police and aviation safety teams quickly reached the crash site after receiving alerts from airport officials and nearby witnesses. The area was cordoned off to ensure safety and to allow investigators to begin a detailed examination of the wreckage. 

Officials stated that the trainee pilots involved in the incident survived and were taken for medical evaluation. Their condition has been described as stable, though further medical checks are underway as a precautionary measure. No fatalities have been reported so far.

Preliminary assessments suggest that the aircraft was part of a flight training session conducted under a flying school operating from the Baramati airstrip, which is frequently used for pilot training activities. However, investigators have not yet confirmed whether mechanical failure, pilot error, weather conditions, or external factors contributed to the crash.

Local residents reported hearing a loud noise followed by smoke rising from the crash site, which led to confusion and panic in nearby areas. Emergency services acted swiftly to secure the location and prevent further risk.
