A long-forgotten cinematic project featuring two of Indian cinema’s most respected actors has finally resurfaced after more than two decades. The Last Tenant, starring Irrfan Khan and Vidya Balan, has been released on YouTube, offering audiences a rare glimpse into the early careers of both performers.

The film, which was completed around the year 2000, remained unreleased for nearly 25 years due to production challenges and the eventual loss of its original master copy. Directed by Sarthak Dasgupta, the project marked one of his earliest ventures in filmmaking and was initially envisioned as a short independent drama exploring themes of isolation and emotional transition.
