Pakistan all rounder Mohammad Nawaz has reportedly tested positive for recreational drugs during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. As per reports, The test sample was taken during the tournament and later reported to the Pakistan Cricket Board by International Cricket Council. 

The PCB has reportedly started an official investigation, and Nawaz is currently going through the required process. 

Meanwhile, his contract with Surrey for the T20 Blast has been cancelled, noted reports. However, Nawaz is still playing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as the case is still under review. Reports say that he may face disciplinary action depending on the final result of the investigation under ICC anti-doping rules. 

Nawaz could face a suspension from international and domestic cricket. As per reports, the length of the ban will depend on the type of substance found and the rules set by the ICC. 

This situation may also affect Pakistan’s team plans for upcoming matches and tournaments. Reportedly, the PCB is expected to take strict action to maintain discipline and protect the image of Pakistan cricket.
