Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has reportedly issued a stern warning to Israel, signalling possible action if ongoing diplomatic efforts fail to ease escalating tensions in West Asia.
As per reports, the Turkish president accused Israel of carrying out attacks that disregard humanitarian values, further inflaming the regional conflict. He also condemned the reported killing of civilians in Lebanon, including incidents said to have occurred on a ceasefire day, describing Israel’s actions as part of what he termed a “genocide network”.
Meanwhile, the United States is reportedly attempting to revive diplomatic engagement with Iran after recent talks in Islamabad ended without an agreement.
US President Donald Trump has endorsed what officials describe as a “final and best offer” to Tehran. Vice President JD Vance said the proposal represents Washington’s last effort to secure a breakthrough, adding that Mr Trump remained closely involved throughout the 21-hour negotiations.
However, Iranian officials have indicated there is no urgency to resume talks. Reports suggest Tehran believes the responsibility now lies with Washington to respond more realistically to its proposals, further complicating the diplomatic process.
The situation in the Strait of Hormuz remains a major concern, with Iran warning that there will be no change in the status of the vital global oil route until the United States agrees to what it considers a “reasonable deal”, leaving the region on edge.
