More than 50 pages of FBI documents tied to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation are missing from the public release of files, leading to accusations of a possible government cover-up, stated reports citing Democratic lawmarks.

Top Democrats on the House Oversight Committee reportedly claimed that the missing files contain interviews and notes connected to a woman who alleged that former US President Donald Trump sexually abused her when she was a minor. These documents should have been included in the official release of Epstein related files but were not found in the publicly searchable database.

The files were released by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) under a law called the Epstein File Transparency Act, which requires all unclassified documents about Epstein’s crime to be made public. However, independent media outlets like NPR and others noticed gaps in the files that suggest multiple FBI interview summaries are missing.

The Justice Department reportedly said that it is reviewing whether any documents were improperly withheld and could be released later. Officials have previously said that some records were removed because they could reveal victim identities, were duplicates, or were tied to ongoing investigations.

The White House and Trump’s supporters deny wrongdoing. A white house spokesperson said Trump was “totally exonerated” of any involvement related to Epstein’s crime, as per reports. Trump himself has admitted socialising with Epstein years ago but denied knowing about Epstein’s criminal actions and rejects the current allegations.

So far, no charges have been filed against Trump in connection to the Epstein investigation, and the missing pages have raised both legal and political debate in Washington.
