Singapore: The sudden demise of renowned Assamese singer and music composer Zubeen Garg has left fans heartbroken across the nation.
The 52-year-old artist passed away in Singapore after a tragic scuba diving mishap. Reports confirm that Singapore police rescued him from the sea and rushed him to a nearby hospital, but despite medical efforts, doctors were unable to save him.
Just days before his passing, Zubeen had shared what is now being called his last video on Instagram, inviting fans to the 4th North East India Festival at Suntec, Singapore.
In the video, he encouraged people to attend the event scheduled for September 20 and 21, where he was set to perform as the Cultural Brand Ambassador.
He captioned the video: “Friends in Singapore, I will like to invite you to 4th North East India Festival in Suntec, Singapore during 20th and 21st September. Come and explore the exotic part of India… I will perform on the 20th evening with my popular Hindi, Bengali and Assamese songs. Entry is free, all come and support us.”
Zubeen Garg was celebrated for his music across multiple languages including Assamese, Bengali, and Hindi. His most iconic Bollywood track was Ya Ali from the film Gangster starring Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, and Shiney Ahuja.
He also lent his voice to Dil Tu Hi Bata in Krrish 3, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut.
His untimely passing has sent shockwaves across the music industry, with fans and fellow artists paying tribute to the legendary singer on social media.
