In a shocking incident, a doctor in Jhansi was brutally attacked inside his hospital chamber on Monday, September 8, by a mob of over a dozen masked assailants armed with knives, glass bottles, and bricks. The victim, identified as Dr. Mandeep Madia of Sanjeevani Hospital, sustained serious injuries and has been admitted for treatment.

Police have arrested one of the attackers, identified as Shivdeep Singh, and charged him with attempted murder, while further arrests are expected soon.

According to reports, the assault occurred in broad daylight when a group of 13 men stormed into the doctor’s chamber with their faces covered. CCTV footage of the attack, which has since gone viral, shows the mob slapping the doctor 11 times within just six seconds, before continuing to beat him with sharp objects.

 

When hospital staff members, including Sonu, Renu, and Ramvati, tried to intervene, they too were assaulted. The attackers also vandalized the hospital before fleeing the scene.

The violent attack was reportedly triggered by a dispute over the treatment of Shivdeep’s mother, Kamlesh Devi, who had been admitted for fever on September 6.

Shivdeep had allegedly argued with and threatened hospital staff multiple times regarding her care. Just hours before the assault, police were called to the hospital to discharge the patient following another altercation. The mob returned later and launched the assault on Dr. Madia.

A police complaint has been registered against Shivdeep, along with Hrithik, Deepak, Mayank, Jayant, and eight unidentified individuals. Authorities confirmed that Shivdeep has been sent to jail, and efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining accused.
