Doha, Qatar: A series of powerful explosions rocked Doha on Tuesday, sending shockwaves across the region. Local media reported that nearly ten blasts were heard in the Katara District, with thick black smoke rising from the area.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) later issued a statement claiming responsibility for the strikes, saying they were precision operations targeting the senior leadership of Hamas.
According to sources close to Hamas, the group’s negotiating headquarters was the primary target of the airstrikes. However, no official confirmation of casualties has been released by Qatari authorities. Reports from Israeli suggested that the airstrikes were part of a planned assassination attempt against Hamas leaders based in Qatar.
In its statement, the IDF confirmed that both the Israel Defence Forces and the Israel Security Agency (ISA) conducted a precise strike against Hamas’s top leadership. The military further alleged that those targeted were directly responsible for orchestrating the October 7 massacre and leading the group’s operations against Israel.
The IDF emphasized that measures were taken to minimize civilian harm, including the use of precision-guided munitions and enhanced intelligence gathering. The statement concluded by affirming that Israel would continue its operations with determination until Hamas is defeated.
