The initial glimpse of Prime Video’s forthcoming series ‘The Revolutionaries’ showcases the struggle of youthful freedom fighters against British colonial rule. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, the show boasts a talented ensemble cast featuring Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta, Gurfateh Pirzada, and Jason Shah.

The 56-second teaser presents the revolutionaries in various disguises as they take up arms against their colonial oppressors. This first look also offers a sneak peek into the historical context of India under British governance. ‘The Revolutionaries’ is currently being filmed in several locations across India, including Mumbai, Amritsar, Varanasi, Dehradun, and others.

Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals at Prime Video, India, commented on the historical series, stating, “‘The Revolutionaries’ is an ambitious and profoundly significant project for us, and we are thrilled to collaborate once more with our long-time partner Nikkhil Advani and the skilled team at Emmay Entertainment.”

He added, “With Nikkhil’s creative direction and the powerful performances of Bhuvan, Rohit, Pratibha, and Gurfateh, we are confident in our capacity to authentically capture the essence of the era and pay tribute to this inspiring chapter in India’s history.”

In sharing his thoughts on the new series centered around young patriots, Director Nikkhil Advani remarked, “For me, ‘The Revolutionaries’ represents a profoundly enriching and enlightening journey. Sanjeev Sanyal’s impactful book has provided us with a compelling basis to narrate the untold stories of these remarkable young patriots.”

“We are excited to collaborate once again with our long-term partners at Prime Video, who have been entirely supportive and encouraging of our vision,” he continued.

“We have assembled an outstanding crew and cast, led by Bhuvan, Rohit, Pratibha (Ranta), and Gurfateh, who are eager to fully engage with the spirit of this narrative and bring these iconic characters to life. “We are dedicated to creating a narrative that resonates authentically and leaves a significant impact on audiences worldwide,” the director stated.

Ranta, who gained recognition through Kiran Rao’s ‘Laapataa Ladies’, will also portray a revolutionary in the upcoming period drama currently in production.

Advani previously directed the epic drama series ‘Freedom at Midnight’ (2024), which is based on the book of the same title written by Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins.

Produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under the EmmayEntertainment banner, ‘The Revolutionaries’ is set to debut on Prime Video.
