RSS Reports ‘Encouraging Developments’ In Manipur Conflict Areas

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leaders Sunil Ambekar and Anil Agarwal conducted a joint press conference on Monday, addressing several important issues. The RSS stated that with their workers actively present in Manipur, positive changes are occurring in the state.

“RSS volunteers are diligently working to restore peace and promote dialogue among the Meitei and other communities impacted by the conflict,” Ambekar, the RSS’s Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh, remarked. While there have been notable positive changes, the leaders acknowledged that achieving full normalcy will take additional time.

The RSS is executing inclusive outreach programs designed to engage various segments of society. Residents from border regions have been actively involved in these initiatives, indicating an increase in trust and a broader social connection, the two RSS pracharaks noted.

Regarding the terms socialist and secular in the Constitution, the RSS reflected on the Emergency period as a time marked by significant political oppression and constitutional breaches. “Democratic values were put on hold, and amendments were enacted without true public consent,” Ambekar stated. The leaders encouraged future generations to examine this troubling period to grasp the vulnerability of democracy when “power is unchecked.”

Language Dispute and Criticism from Congress

In relation to the language dispute, Sunil Ambekar emphasized that the RSS has consistently regarded all Indian languages as national languages. He maintained that individuals should communicate in the language common to their area, and that primary education ought to be delivered in that language.

Addressing the criticisms from Congress, the leaders noted that efforts to impose a ban on the RSS were met with public backlash or legal challenges, resulting in a reversal, as the ban was fundamentally illegitimate from the beginning.

Engagement: Panch Parivartan, Hindu Sammelan & More

Through the Panch Parivartan initiative, the RSS seeks to achieve a thorough national transformation by concentrating on five essential areas: enhancing economic self-sufficiency, fostering individual welfare, promoting values-driven living, bolstering social welfare, and ensuring inclusive economic development. The primary objective during the RSS Centenary Year is to significantly broaden its outreach, establishing connections with all segments of society and encouraging inclusivity and national unity.

Regarding intellectual engagement at the district level, the RSS intends to conduct meetings in all 924 districts organized by the Sangh, involving intellectuals and respected figures. These discussions are designed to enrich ideological conversations and reinforce the organization’s ties with thought leaders nationwide.

As part of its extensive outreach efforts, the RSS will host Hindu Sammelans in every mandal and basti, encompassing 58,000 mandals and 44,000 bastis. In total, over one lakh Hindu Sammelans will be conducted across the country to enhance grassroots connections.

In the previous year, specifically in May and June, the RSS organized more than 100 Sangh Prashikshan Vargs (training camps), with 75 of these aimed at individuals under 40 years old. A total of 17,609 volunteers, including those from the Nagpur headquarters, engaged in these camps. Furthermore, 8,813 students participated in Sangh Shiksha Vargs, demonstrating significant youth involvement. For the age group of 40 to 60, 4,270 volunteers received training, underscoring the inter-generational participation in the organization’s ideological and practical training.
