Fast bowler Akash Deep, who achieved a remarkable 10-wicket haul, led India to a historic 336-run victory over England at Edgbaston, always aspired to gain recognition by playing cricket at the highest level.
“Akash Deep has always aimed to make a name for himself through his exceptional cricket skills,” Jyoti mentioned.
With India down 0-1 in the current Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, Akash rose to the occasion in the absence of pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, helping India level the five-match series. He claimed four wickets in England’s first innings and followed that up with his career-best bowling figures of 6/99, contributing to India’s first-ever Test win at Edgbaston.
